Testimony

We should take every opportunity to share this great gospel! It is important to share the great blessings we have received from God! So often people are afraid that when they say they are a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that they will be rejected. Be proud of the wonderful knowledge that we have! God has restored a perfect church to this earth with a living prophet directed by Jesus Christ himself! And although, as a people we are imperfect and we make mistakes... We have the same exact church as Jesus Christ established when he walked the earth, complete with the restoration of the Priesthood authority --- the power to act in God's name to perform sacred ordinance. Who wouldn't want the opportunity to find out for themselves if these things are not true. Who better to share with them than their own friends?

Also, I think that it is extremely important to share with those who already know. I have been strengthened so often by the testimony of a friend. I know that as we bear our testimony with our friends both members of our church and those who are not that it strengthens our testimonies and increases our desire to do that which is right. Maybe all of our friends will reject the message... but should we deny them the opportunity? If we love them we will not deny them such a wonderful thing.

Another friend at the Visitor's Center

Agh, great night. I just got a call from Sister Tasha Parker. She and her family visited the D.C. V.C. and had a nice time with Sister Gordon. She bore testimony to them and also to their children. Sister Parker said she was helpful with the children and they had a very beautiful night. Said the time spent, was peaceful and she enjoyed Sister Gordons testimony. I love and miss that girl. She is loving it and working very hard.

Peace and a Sense of Wholeness

So good to talk to you the other day. Did I tell you that you're great? Well, you are! It was great to talk to you. Sorry not homesick.... try again at Christmas) It was very uplifting. It was so good to hear everyone's voice. ! Tell everyone that I love and miss them.

I have seen so many miracles on my mission and seen people find peace and a sense of wholeness. The gospel is supposed to do that. When understood and lived you have peace even through the hard stuff. A lot of people focus on guilt to try and make changes in their own lives or others... but not Heavenly Father. He loves us so much and wants us to make good choices for ourselves. That is why He gives us commandments.. He knows they make us happier. That is why He sent His Son to die for us... because He knew we would make mistakes and He provided a way for us to fix them. The greatest motivation is Love and I know that God loves each and every one of you down to the very smallest details of your lives. He wants us to make the choices that we can live with Him again... But He loves us so much that He even lets us choose not to do that but to choose for ourselves what we want. I know that making good choices helps us to be happy. It helps us to be free... it prevents a lot of pain and fear but it also brings so many blessings. I know that the times I have been happiest in my life is when I am doing what I know my Heavenly Father would want me to do. When I am praying and letting Him play an active role in my life. So that is my invitation for everyone. To allow God to really play a part in your life, to increase your spirituality that you may know what He wants for you. I promise that as you allow Him he will make your life so much better than even you can have imagined... and the peace and happiness you will feel will be immeasurable. (2 Nephi 26:24 He doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the world; for he loveth the world, even that he layeth down his own life that he may draw all men unto him. Wherefore, he commandeth none that they shall not partake of his salvation.

Ahhh, about "My Mission"

So my mission itself is so neat! I love it because we have the best of all worlds! We have people from every culture and every nation and every ecenomic status. The Sisters are missionaries in the Visitors' Center as well as in a proselyting area. Although, that means we have less time in our areas than any of the Elders we see so many miracles! We work hard and we work smart and we love the people!
Some key points are:
The Visitors' Center is like a big box of miracles and the Spirit is so strong there you can't help but feel of God's love and desire a closer relationship with Him.
The Visitors' Center is a lot more work than most people think and has helped me to grow and attain skills that I could have nowhere else.
My proselyting area is also amazing and I love it... It changes from time to time and that just means more people for me to love.
The way they work together is that several days a week (3 - 6) I go to the Visitors Center for a 6 hour shift and do missionary work either in the morning or evening. The rest of my time is spent doing missionary work in my area. :) Together it is the most amazing experience I have ever had.
I love my mission dearly and I know it is what is right for me. :)
